Voting Faith and Climate

Voting is an important and powerful way we people of faith live out our values and work toward the common good for all people and all creation. When we go to the polls, we do so not only for ourselves, but on behalf of our sacred water, clean air, and healthy soil, and on all life that depends on them. When we cast our ballot, we honor our ancestors on whose shoulders we stand and carry children and future generations in our hearts and minds. When we vote our faith and climate, we vote as the majority of Americans. 85% of Americans agree that we have a moral responsibility to create a safe and healthy climate for ourselves and our children.
I am calling on all people of faith to create a voting plan.
- Confirm your voter registration.
- Find your polling location and voting dates. Vote early, if possible.
- Preview your ballot
- Evaluate candidates
- Know your rights
- Help others vote by sharing information, providing a ride to the polls, and reminding people to vote.
Be visible! Share photos and voter information on social media and with your congregation.
Let us all be the change we hope to see in the world by being informed and active in the election process and helping 10 others do the same.
