National Faith + Climate Forum 2025 Draws 2,000+ Attendees

The 2025 National Faith + Climate Forum on March 27th drew more than 2,000 attendees nationwide. Hosted by Blessed Tomorrow, the hybrid event featured live programming streamed to those gathered online and in person at 83 locations from California to Maine, representing over 550 congregations and faith communities from more than 30 denominations and faith traditions. 

Renowned conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, and Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) delivered compelling keynote addresses. Dr. Goodall said, “When many people make even small ethical choices…, cumulatively this will move us to a better and fairer, and more sustainable world.” Senator Warnock reminded us, “What’s good for our ecology is also good for our economy.” Both called on faith communities to lead with hope, courage, and action in the face of the climate crisis.

The 2025 Forum featured 18 inspiring speakers who supported the integration of creation care into our faith lives. Rt. Rev. Francine A. Brookins, Esq., Presiding Bishop 5th Episcopal District, and Rev. Dr. Miriam Burnett, Supervisor of Missions 5th Episcopal District, both of the African Methodist Episcopal Church shared the emotional story of the recent LA fires and the impacts on the community, as well as, the strength and hope provided by First AME Church of Pasadena, CA in the aftermath. 

ecoAmerica Executive Director Meighen Speiser attended the Pasadena, CA location at First AME Church along with 40 church leaders including five who lost their homes in the fires. Meighen said, “People clapped and cheered many times responding to the speakers. A lot of information was shared, connections were made, and at least 3 programs were born here.” ecoAmerica President Bob Perkowitz attended the Asheville, NC location at First Presbyterian Church, which also continues to be a hub of hope of resilience for the community as they heal and rebuild from Hurricane Helene.

Everyone was united by a commitment to addressing climate change and enhancing the vitality of their congregations. The forum highlighted the urgency of our challenges, the vast opportunities for solutions, and how faith communities play a significant role in advancing progress. Participants were empowered with actionable insights and practical strategies to implement just and equitable solutions in their congregations and at the same time strengthen the social and spiritual fabric of local communities.

The National Faith + Climate Forum is the only event of its kind that mobilizes faith communities at scale across the US to act on climate as a moral, spiritual, and justice issue. The forum’s momentum continues throughout the year via local events, trainings, resources, and engagement opportunities provided by Blessed Tomorrow and its partners.
