Anita Fête Crews

Ani Fête Crews is the Director of Stakeholder Engagement for the Human Rights Campaign and former Blessed Tomorrow director (2017-2022). In her current role, she endeavors to advance LGBTQ+ civil rights at the state and federal levels by bringing forward the expertise, influence, and voice of institutional stakeholders and allies. This work includes the Business Coalition for the Equality Act, the National Business Statement on Anti-LGBTQ State Legislation, amicus briefs, and other stakeholder organizing and education activities. Ani has spent two decades building coalitions and activating stakeholders in public policy advocacy in both government and non-profit sectors. As the director of Blessed Tomorrow she grew the program’s institutional partners 3 fold and launched the initial cohort of Blessed Tomorrow Ambassadors. Ani previously served as Senior Director of Member Engagement with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), where she led leadership development for the nation’s state public health agency directors, their leadership teams, and other state public health partners. Ani was also a founding member of Enroll America and the Get Covered Coalition, a diverse group of hospitals, insurers, businesses, public health institutions, consumer advocacy groups, and policy experts working together to enroll millions of uninsured Americans in health coverage following the passage of the Affordable Care Act. She began her career as a legislative aide in the Ohio Senate and served as Chief of Government Affairs for the Ohio Department of Health. Ani is a proud Buckeye, now based in the DC area with her husband and three children.
