Rev. Sotello V Long

Rev. Sotello V. Long is an ordained minister and serves as the president of Disciples Home Missions (DHM) of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. DHM is the coordinating ministry of the Christian Church (DOC) in the area of congregational program and mission in North America. He began service on September 1, 2017 and was serving as Regional Minister of the Christian Church in South Carolina and as Pastor of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Aiken, SC prior to his call to DHM. As president, he provides leadership and collegial ministry with the Disciples General Justice Table, Green Chalice, Creation Justice Ministries, Refugee and Immigration Ministries, Disciples Farm Worker Ministry, Disciples Justice for Children, Disciples Peace Fellowship and the Justice Advocacy Consultant. He is in the Doctor of Ministry program at Lexington Theological Seminary (LTS), Lexington, KY focusing on a systems approach to transforming general ministry.

He is the husband of Dee Long. He is the son of Carl and Ella Long and the elder brother of Cynthia Long & Teresa Whitfield, all of Kinston, NC. Carl and Teresa have passed over to glory. He is an articulate individual with a warm and cordial personality. He flows with the grace of an inspirational and gifted preacher and teacher with excellent collegial leadership, administrative and team-building skills.
