John joined GBCS as Program Director for Environmental Justice. In 2003, his portfolio expanded to include economic justice issues. As part of his ecumenical work, John serves as chair of the Policy Committee for the National Council of Churches’ Eco-Justice Working Group and co-chair of the Washington Interreligious Staff Community’s Energy and Ecology Working Group. John lives in Washington, D.C., and is an active member of Foundry UMC where he has taught Sunday School for 10 years. He also serves as Foundry’s chair of the Christian Education Committee In addition, John is a member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Child Development Services, a non-profit organization offering child-care services for low income families in Washington, D.C.
